A day in the life of a skip bin hire company

Ever wondered what it is like to work at Matt’s Skip Bins? Faced with various challenges on the road and coming across many interesting items in our skip bins, not every day is the same. Luckily, we are adaptable!

However, we do have a routine that goes to plan – most of the time, anyway. This includes our regular tasks that ensure our operation works like clockwork and ensures our clients get the same high-quality service they have come to rely on. You can see exactly what our hardworking drivers get up after and before they visit your property.

Keep reading to get an insight into an average day for one of our drivers.

Morning

In the morning, our drivers usually start the day at staggered times. These times begin at 7 am.

The first thing drivers will do is get ready for their day ahead. This means unloading the bins they collected from the previous day at the factory, ready to be sorted by our team. Once the previous containers have been discarded, they can prepare and load up their runs for the day ahead.

Drivers will look at their schedules, organised the night before by our admin team, to see their upcoming runs. They will load the correct skip bin sizes to be placed onto their truck, ready for delivery. Once this is done, they will hit the road and get started!

Mid-day

By mid-day, our drivers should be well into their schedule for the day. Providing skip bin hire to Western Sydney suburbs, our customers can be all over the region. Our office team will allocate the drivers to complete 3-4 geographically organised runs per day so all customers are covered.

mid-day

While on the road doing their runs, our drivers will have a mix of tasks. While our main tasks are to complete deliveries and collections, our drivers also have more duties to help our business run smoothly.

In addition to collecting and dropping off bins, our drivers visit waste facilities and recycling centres. After all, we need to find time to dispose of the ever-building waste we sort through back at base in between our lovely customers!

Afternoon

Once the afternoon has hit, the day starts to wind down and the final drop-offs or collections are made. This is when we make any late drop-off and collection requests. By the time the afternoon turns into evening, our drivers will have handled around 30-40 bins, all with a smile!

While most days can go smoothly without a hiccup, there are occasional bumps in the road to keep our drivers on their toes. This includes breakdowns and traffic jams in addition to other fun situations. We even sometimes have the occasional cow holding us up when they escape from a rural property gate!

Now you can see how hardworking the team is at Matt’s Skip Bins. Customer service is our priority and is at the core of our skip bin hire experience. That is why we have such an organised process with our drivers, to ensure we provide 100% customer satisfaction each time.
